About me!

My name is Mattahn McNair and I’m a classical guitarist. I love music and it makes me happy seeing people enjoy music too. The classical guitar is an amazing instrument and no mater what experience level you are, there is always something to learn and being 12 years of age, I have a lot to go! As an enthusiastic performer, I play at many venues around the coast. Music is something that can bring different types of people together. I love all styles of music and I get asked “What is your favorite style?” Though I don’t play all of them, I love them equally and have been playing for 4 years. When you play the guitar, moving your fingers it feels free and there is no limit to how fast or slow you can go. To anyone who is not involved with a form of music, you’re missing out on something special! To anyone at the Mooloolaba Esplanade – on the weekend, look out for me performing at either Gloria Jeans or Starbucks.

About Mattahn McNair (From press release May 2014)

11 year old Mattahn McNair has been an enthusiastic student of Classical guitar since taking it up just over three and a half years ago. His interest broadened in the last year, when introduced to Flamenco by Andrew Veivers – the fire has started! Mattahn’s short ‘career’ has included performances in many venues around the Sunshine Coast. He is a ‘regular’ at Gloria Jeans & Starbucks on the Mooloolaba Esplanade during weekends, where you can find him playing his Classical Guitar – and the occasional game of chess. Mattahn is a very popular soloist at Sunshine Coast Grammar School, and has been performing in many assemblies & other schools’ functions. He has won First Prizes at the 2013 & 2014 Sunshine Coast Eisteddfod. A young performer at the beginning of his musical journey – Viva Mattahn!
